Terms of Service
Last updated 29 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Dot Portal Limited, a company registered in Sierra Leone, which owns and operates KontriTicket. By registering for an event, buying a ticket, or using KontriTicket as an organizer, you agree to them.
1. What KontriTicket is — and what it is not
KontriTicket is a registration and ticketing platform. Dot Portal Limited provides the platform: registration, payment, ticket issuance and check-in at the gate. KontriTicket is a product of Dot Portal Limited, and Dot Portal Limited is the operator of the KontriTicket service, of this website, and of the KontriTicket WhatsApp business account.
Dot Portal Limited does not run the events on it. The organizer of an event is responsible for that event — for whether it happens, when and where, what is provided, and for anything that occurs at it. When you register for an event you are buying admission from the organizer. Questions about the event go to the organizer; questions about KontriTicket come to us.
2. Registering and your ticket
You may register through WhatsApp or through this website. Both routes lead to the same registration, and you must give accurate information — a ticket issued in a name or to a phone number that is not yours may not get you in.
Registering does not guarantee a place until it is confirmed. A place is held for you while you complete payment, and released again if payment is not completed in time, so that the seat is not held against somebody else who would take it.
3. Payment
Ticket prices are set by the organizer and shown before you pay. Payment is taken by mobile money, or by redeeming a cash code bought from an authorised agent. Payments are processed by the provider, not by us: we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, and never your PIN or wallet credentials.
Cash codes are valid only when issued to an agent and not yet used. A code that has been redeemed, cancelled or never issued will be refused. Buying a code from anyone other than an authorised agent is at your own risk.
Dot Portal Limited charges the organizer for use of the platform under a separate arrangement. Where a fee applies to your purchase it is shown to you before you pay.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Refund policy for an event is set by its organizer, and the organizer settles refunds. Dot Portal Limited does not refund the price of a ticket on the organizer’s behalf.
An organizer can cancel a registration. When they do:
- the place is released and becomes available to somebody else;
- any cash code that paid for it is voided — it is cancelled outright, not returned to the organizer’s pool, and cannot be used again;
- the amount paid is recorded as owed to you, for the organizer to settle with you directly.
A registration that has already been checked in at the gate cannot be cancelled. The place was not merely reserved — it was used.
If an organizer cancels or changes an event, that is between you and the organizer. We will help you reach them.
5. Using the service properly
You must not:
- forge, copy, alter or resell a ticket, or attempt to reuse one that has been scanned;
- register using somebody else’s identity or payment details;
- attempt to gain access to accounts, registrations or data that are not yours, or to interfere with the service or the systems it runs on;
- use the service for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or refuse access, and cancel a ticket without refund, where we reasonably believe any of the above has happened.
6. Organizer accounts
Organizer accounts are provisioned by Dot Portal Limited; there is no self sign-up. Sign-in is by one-time code sent to the account’s phone number, so keep control of that number and tell us immediately if you lose it. You are responsible for what is done under your account, including by staff and agents you give access to.
As an organizer you are responsible for the event, for the accuracy of what you publish about it, for the questions you choose to ask delegates and for how you use their answers, for admitting the people who hold valid tickets, and for settling refunds you owe.
7. Availability
We work to keep KontriTicket available and accurate, and the check-in app is built to keep working at the gate when there is no network. We cannot promise the service will never be interrupted, and we do not control the mobile networks, the messaging platforms or the payment providers it depends on.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Dot Portal Limited is not liable for the conduct or cancellation of an event, for loss caused by a mobile network, messaging platform or payment provider failing, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where Dot Portal Limited is liable to you in connection with a ticket, that liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. The terms that apply to a ticket are the ones in force when you bought it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sierra Leone, and the courts of Sierra Leone have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
12. Contact
